Cyber-Attack Hits Municipality of Alegre

An unknown threat actor has attacked the Municipality of Alegre. The technological infrastructure of the Municipality of Alegre has fallen victim to a cyber-attack. The municipality has officially announced that its servers were targeted by hackers over the weekend, resulting in the installation of a RANSOMWARE virus. Following the confirmation of the attack on June 6, 2022, the Information Technology Nucleus (NTI) team took immediate action to contain the threat.

Initial investigations have revealed that a significant portion of the data has been compromised, rendering it inaccessible to users from various sectors that rely on these systems. At this time, there is no information regarding any data breaches. As a result of the incident, all services provided by the City Hall are currently unavailable, and the duration of the disruption remains uncertain. The responsible authorities have been notified through a Unified Bulletin (BU) to initiate the necessary measures in response to the attack.
